Allison Iraheta Goes Home As Final Three Make ‘American Idol’ History
For the first time in “American Idol” history, the final three competing for the crown are men.
Allison Iraheta, the last woman remaining in Season 8, was voted out of the competition on Wednesday night.
Next week’s show will be the first time a female hasn’t been in the top three in the show’s history.
“As she leaves us with the top three… the boys club gets set for next week,” show host Ryan Seacrest said as Allison mockingly yelled “Noooooo!” before smiling and hugging finalists Danny Gokey, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert.
The three gents will travel to their hometowns on next week’s show, an “Idol” tradition.
But while they men appeared excited about their upcoming hometown journeys, the competition will heat up. Seacrest announced the contenders will face another “Idol” tradition – having one of the two songs they will perform next week chosen by the judges.
