Jamie Foxx Offers His ‘American Idol’ Prediction, Advice

As Kris Allen and Adam Lambert prepare for their head-to-head battle in the “American Idol” finale, Jamie Foxx said he already knows the name of the winner.

“Kradam! That’s both of them,” Jamie joked with Access Nancy O’Dell. “Adamis!”

Joking aside, Jamie — who got a chance to work with each of the finalists as one of this season’s special guest mentors – said he thinks the title of “Idol” will go to the man who has been the frontrunner most of the season.

“Adam is gonna win, I believe,” Jamie admitted.

However, the Oscar winner and platinum-selling artist said he sees nothing but big things ahead for Kris.

“For me, this is my opinion, that Kris dude, I guarantee you, he’s got something special,” Jamie told Nancy. “And if you notice, most of the people that don’t win usually end up with crazy careers.”

In fact, if Kris is looking for anyone to duet with, Jamie told the aspiring singer he’s ready.

“I told him. I said, ‘I’ll do it right here with you,’” the actor recalled of his mentoring session with Kris. “Because the way his nuance is, he’s not trying to win the contest – he was just giving you the real thing.”

“He sang something and he looked in my eyes, I was like, ‘Oh man!’ you know. It was crazy. I said, ‘Dude, you got something.’”

And while he was clearly impressed with Kris’ singing chops, he did offer some advice to the “Idol” hopeful.

“I asked Kris what he wanted to do. He said, ‘I want to do pop music.’ And I told him there is no such thing as pop music,” Jamie continued. “You do the music from your soul and then you hope it becomes popular.”

The new “American Idol” will be crowned on May 20.

Carrie Prejean Miss California Cancels On CNN, Lines Up Appearance On FOX

Miss California Carrie Prejean has missed yet another scheduled appearance – this time cancelling at the last minute on Larry King.

“My producer called and said she cancelled, but they didn’t give a reason,” King told us Thursday after her Prejean was a no-show for “Larry King Live.”

King told he’s not sure that the controversial beauty queen would be booked in the future.

“I have no idea, that’s up to the producers,” he said when asked if Prejean would be back. “Usually they don’t if someone cancels on short notice because you don’t do that.”

Miss California USA co-director Keith Lewis made excuses for Prejean’s absence, saying, “She’s a little tired. It was her birthday yesterday… she’s flying back from the east coast.”

She might have missed a date with CNN, but Prejean is scheduled to fill in on FOX’s “Fox & Friends” later this month.

News of Prejean’s FOX appearance was not surprising to Shanna Moakler, who resigned as Miss California USA Executive co-director on Wednesday ultimately because of Prejean.

“I’m sure, I’m sure,” she said laughing. “She’s the darling of FOX News.”

But, Prejean’s cancellation on Thursday was just fine with Shanna.

“They had told me she was going to be on earlier and I had said, ‘I would rather not sit down at a table [with her] at this time,’” she told Access.

Perez Hilton, the Miss USA judge who asked Prejean her opinion on same-sex marriage during the competition, wrote on his blog, “How many MORE chances is Trump gonna give her?”

Miss USA owner Donald Trump decided to allow Prejean to keep her crown after making deciding racy photos that surfaced online of Prejean “were acceptable.”

During Tuesday’s press conference with Trump, Prejean defended the leaked photos, saying, “I am a model, I am a Christian. Many of you are aware of an Internet photo that was posted of me when I was 17 years old and first entered into the modeling industry. A girlfriend took some shots of me at home to include them in my portfolio, which were submitted, to several different agents. As the photo was intended for application rather than publication and I did not and I did not anticipate anyone was in a position to release such an image.”

Judges Spar As Competition Heats Up For Danny, Kris & Adam On ‘American Idol’

“American Idol” packed in the punches on Tuesday night’s competition show and not just from the talented bunch of final three contestants.

Danny Gokey, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert all put in hearty performances in the hopes of making it to the finals, but it was the judges who almost upstaged them.

On Tuesday, the contestants kicked off the show, performing songs chosen by the judges. But after Kris Allen’s performance of One Republic’s “Apologize,” chosen by Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson, the fireworks at the panel’s table began.

After Kara criticized Kris’ faithful rendition of a song she helped pick, saying “at this stage you gotta be swingin’ it outta the park,” and suggested he should have interpreted the song differently and made it more unique, by sitting “out front with a guitar — acoustic,” Simon threw the comments back in the face of the rookie judge.

“I think, Kara, it’s a cop out what you said,” Simon stated. “You can’t choose a song for him and then blame him for doing the song.”

A riled up Kara quickly fired back at the Brit.

“You’re gonna tell me about interpreting a songs,” she shouted. “Have you ever interpreted a song in your life? No, I don’t think so.”

Simon suggested Kara and Randy should have given Kris the arrangement she wanted, something that came as news to Randy.

“We didn’t know we were allowed,” he said. “We didn’t know we were even allowed.”

As for the contenders, they too battled it out — with their songs.

Danny added a saxophone solo to “Dance Little Sister” by Terrence Trent D’Arby, a song chosen for him by Paula Abdul. And later, he stripped things down while performing the Joe Cocker classic, “You Are So Beautiful,” which had even Simon raving.

“I loved the song,” the Brit commented. “I would call that a vocal master class.”

Kris, after the mixed reviews of “Apologize,” shook things up on stage by tackling Kanye West’s “Heartless.” Performed with an acoustic guitar, and a new take on the vocals, Kris left Randy stunned.

“This is gonna be one of the toughest voting nights in the whole year of this show. I liked that version better than The Fray’s version, better than Kanye’s version,” Randy said. “That to me was better than the original!”

And as for longtime frontrunner Adam Lambert, he too received lofty praise for his two numbers, which began with Simon’s choice of U2’s “One,” a song the Brit had to get permission from the band – and a call from Bono — to use on the show.

“That was one brilliant song and one superb performance and one ‘American Idol’ that I’m staring at right now,” Paula raved.

Adam’s second song, his own choice of “Aerosmith’s “Crazy,” was also a hit.

“You’re one of the best that we’ve ever had on this stage,” Randy said as Adam’s family cheered him on. “[You’re] one of the most charismatic, one of the biggest brightest stars. I love this even more than ‘One’ for you. You should be a rock star, that’s what you are, baby.”

‘Glee’ Actors Sing ‘Idol’ Lambert’s Praises

The “Glee” club went back to school, the real-life Santa Monica High School, for the world premiere of their new musical-comedy TV series.

As chilly ocean breezes blew in, they and hundreds of others gathered to watch the “Glee” pilot on a big screen in the school’s amphitheater.

Lea Michele, who starred on Broadway in “Spring Awakening” and now co-stars in “Glee,” found the night “really exciting.”

“It’s so great to finally get out and have everybody see it, and we all get to get dressed up with all of my friends and it’s fantastic,” she said Monday.

From “Nip/Tuck” creator Ryan Murphy, “Glee” follows a group of generally awkward but talented singers. Their fates appear to change with the arrival of a teacher (Matthew Morrison) eager to bring the school’s glee club back to its old glory. Too bad there’s a slew of other faculty members and students just as eager to see him fail. The show’s cast includes Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Amber Riley and Chris Colfer.

The pilot has yet to air, but it’s already received the kind of press usually reserved for established hits: a full front page in the Sunday entertainment section of the Los Angeles Times, magazine spreads, numerous rave reviews.

The Fox network show makes its on-air debut 9 p.m. EDT May 19, following this season’s penultimate “American Idol,” and this “Glee” club definitely has a favorite among remaining contestants Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Danny Gokey.

“You know what? I love Adam,” said Michele. “I’ve known Adam for a while. I’ve known of Adam through the theater world. So, I’m a really big fan. I think Danny’s amazing. So, I’d say it’s going to be tight between the two of them.”

“Adam,” said Colfer.

“Love Adam,” injected McHale, “because he’s ridiculous. Danny is an amazing singer. I think Chris is a great musician. But Adam is just — he’s loud, he’s everything. Just to go see his concert would be crazy. He’s an amazing, amazing singer.”

“Adam is like the new Freddie Mercury meets — I don’t know: genius,” said Ushkowitz.

Simon Cowell : Adam Lambert Will Win ‘Idol’

“American Idol” judge Simon Cowell says he thinks Adam Lambert will win this season of the popular singing competition show. Cowell told Oprah Winfrey on Monday’s episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” that his money is on Lambert because the contestant is fearless, unique and “he’s got swagger.”

Winfrey also featured Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle, who is competing on “Britain’s Got Talent.” Boyle told Winfrey she’s “loving every second” of her newfound fame.

The 47-year-old Boyle became famous after she shocked judges and the audience with her version of “I Dreamed a Dream” from the musical “Les Miserables.”

One of those judges was Cowell, who wished Boyle congratulations and wished her “best of luck” on the rest of the competition.

Carrie Prejean Miss California Will Keep Her Crown

After being shrouded in controversy since the Miss USA pageant, Miss California Carrie Prejean is keeping her crown.

“Carrie will remain Miss California,” Donald Trump – the Miss USA owner – said in a press conference on Tuesday.

Despite racy photos of the beauty queen that surfaced on TheDirty.com last week and new topless photos that surfaced on TMZ.com on Tuesday, which showed Prejean posing without a shirt, the beauty queen will retain her title.

“We had a little bit of a dilemma with Carrie, who is here, who is lovely and who gave a very very honest answer when asked a very tough question at the recent pageant. It’s the same answer that the President of the United States gave. It’s the same answer that many people gave, and at the same time it was a controversial question,” Trump said. “It was a tough question it was probably a fair question because it’s asked of many people and I’ve often said it, if her beauty wasn’t so great nobody really would have cared. But that’s not the way it worked out, so she gave an honorable answer, she gave an answer from her heart and I think for that she has to be commended.”

Next Trump moved on to Prejean’s racy photos that have surfaced online.

“Now to the pictures. We’ve reviewed the pictures very carefully… we are in the 21st century and I talked about relevance and the pageants have been updated tremendously. And Carrie is a model, she’s a very successful model, we have determined – and we have the absolute right under the contract – we have determined that the pictures taken are fine,” Trump continued. “So, we’ve made a determination that everything we’ve seen to this date that she’s done, some were risque, but again, we’re in the 21st century, so we’ve made a determination that the pictures taken were acceptable they were fine in many cases. They were lovely pictures and in some cases they were modeling pictures, so I think that’s very important to understand.”

Trump also addressed the strife between the co-directors of the Miss California USA, Shanna Moakler and Keith Lewis, and Prejean.

“The last thing… is we have Keith and Shannon from the pageant, the directors of the Miss California pageant. I met them today for the first time…they were having some miscommunication with Carrie. The communication, I believe, is totally solved. They are really getting along very well. They’ve been meeting for hours in my office and I really think that they are and have developed a relationship that they didn’t have before,” Trump continued. “Carrie will remain Miss California. She, I believe will do a fantastic job.

Adding, “And I think that Carrie will go down as somebody that Shanna and Keith will be very proud of in the end.

Trump also commented about the ordeal Prejean has endured.

“She’s really taken a tremendous amount of abuse… by people who shouldn’t be handing out abuse,” he said. “But, she’s strong, she’s smart, she’s tough and she’s very nice. And she’s also very beautiful and that’s why she’s Miss California and that’s why she came in as runner up in the Miss USA pageant.”

Following Trumps announcement, Prejean spoke, saying, “Three weeks ago I was asked a politically charged question, with a hidden personal agenda. I answered my question honestly and sincerely from my heart. I was very careful to articulate in saying that I did not want to offend anybody and that this is how I was raised and this is what I believe a marriage should be - between one man and one woman.”

“Immediately after the pageant, judge number eight (Perez Hilton, not mentioned by name) began a cultural firestorm in the media, it went national. As he was trying to be self promoting and hateful,” she continued. “Let me be clear, I am not an activist or anything, nor do I have a personal agenda. I was thrown into this firestorm from the time I was asked the question on stage. I have become an advocate for the importance of not redefining marriage based upon my own upbringing and beliefs while I am not the most vocal proponent of traditional marriage; it appears by my singular response I have become the most visible.”

Prejean then addressed the leaked that surfaced following the pageant.

“I need to address some concerns, rumors and hateful attacks that have been reported about me as recent as this morning. First, my faith commands us to forgive one another. This means anyone who has made malicious slanderous or untrue allegations about me. And I willingly forgive them before all of you today. But I believe no one should be silenced. If they are speaking from their heart,” she continued.

“I am a model, I am a Christian.

After the first photo of Prejean surfaced online last week, her spokesperson told that the beauty queen was 17 or under when the pictures were taken.

Prejean’s spokesperson also said the photos were shot by a friend or family member to be used in a portfolio. Her spokesperson told that Prejean directed the photo session and someone else actually shot them.

In addition, Prejean penned a handwritten note to , reiterating her age at the time of the photograph.

“The photo in question was taken was I was a minor, several months before the 2005 pageant,” the note, dated May 5, 2009, read. “The photo was not meant for disclosure to the general public.”

Prejean’s contract with Miss California USA also prohibited nudity, stating on page five, “appearing in public or permitting myself to be photographed in a state of partial or total nudity or in a lewd, compromising or sexually suggestive manner constitutes a violation of this provision (this includes photographs of images that may appear on any Web site, such as MySpace of Facebook).”

Prejean told Access two weeks ago that she felt targeted because of her stance on traditional marriages, saying, “I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures including lingerie and swimwear photos.”

Leo & Kate Help Last Titanic Survivor

The last survivor of the sinking of the Titanic in 1912 is getting a hand from Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

The “Titanic” stars, along with director James Cameron, have contributed to a $30,000 fund for Millvina Dean, 98,

The Irish Independent was the first to report the news.

The stars came forward after an appeal by photographer Don Mullan in the Sunday edition of the paper. Mullan had asked the stars and director of 1997 blockbuster to help Millvina, who has struggled with her nursing home bills.

Millvina was the ill-fated ship’s youngest passenger – only nine weeks old upon being carried unto the Titanic from Southampton, England – and is now its last remaining survivor.

The photographer had been selling a limited edition shot, entitled “Still Surviving,” of Millvina’s hands signing an autograph in order to raise funds for her, and decided to reach out to the “Titanic” stars to pitch in. The photo is part of a new exhibition of his called “A Thousand Reasons for Living.”

“I figured that if the edition sold out, it would secure Millvina for a full year. My plan, however, was to double the impact and thereby secure her for two years. I decided, therefore, at the opening of the exhibition, to publicly challenge James Cameron, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, 20th Century Fox and Celine to match me dollar for dollar,’’ Don told the Independent.

He is still waiting on a response from Celine, who won an Oscar for the film’s theme song, “My Heart Will Go On,” and the film’s studio, 20th Century Fox.

Cruise, Diaz, Apatow Chat On AMC’s ‘Storymakers’

Tom Cruise says he’d try directing if he weren’t so busy with a different kind of off-camera project: parenting.

“It’s really about my kids,” explains Cruise, the father of three children, who says directing a film would be even more time-consuming than producing or performing.

“One day I will do it, but right now, I’m having so much fun as an actor,” Cruise says on AMC’s “Storymakers,” which airs Friday (10 p.m. EDT). The special is co-hosted by show-biz veterans Peter Bart and Peter Guber.

Other guests include Judd Apatow, Nick Cassavetes and Cameron Diaz, who stars in “My Sister’s Keeper,” directed by Cassavetes. “They should give tissues with it as a promo,” Diaz says.

Cassavetes talks about going to the movies “for an experience of connection.”

“You don’t go to be tricked or to be wowed,” he says.

Then Apatow, writer, director and producer of “Funny People,” starring Adam Sandler, defends his practice of including male nude scenes in his comedies.

“How come it’s always in a drama?” says Apatow. “How come you CAN’T do comedy with a naked man?”

Brings Comedy Show To Jobless Ohio Residents Jay Leno

Comedian Jay Leno is taking his tour to southwest Ohio to boost morale in a region wracked by layoffs.

The “Tonight Show” host is putting on two free shows expected to draw thousands of people to the Roberts Centre in Wilmington on Sunday.

The city of about 12,000 residents has drawn national attention as a vivid example of the economic struggles of small U.S. communities during the recession. The main presidential candidates discussed its plight last year.

About 8,000 workers were employed at the Wilmington Air Park a year ago when DHL Express announced it was pulling out, and about 3,500 remain.

Wilmington Mayor David Raizk (RESK) says at least half of them will lose their jobs when DHL leaves this summer.

Gets Emotional On Stage In Ohio David Cook

David Cook has performed a handful of concerts since the death of his brother Adam, less than a week ago. But on Friday night, things got tough for the “American Idol” in Ohio.

Emotions hit the rocker at several points during his Akron, Ohio show, and he left the stage while performing, “Come Back To Me,” according to People.

The “Idol” winner left the stage during the song and was seen in a hallway with his hand to his face, while surrounded by his bandmates, People reported.

After returning to the stage, David said, “It’s been a hell of a week. It’s good to be here tonight.”

David’s brother Adam, 37, lost his battle with brain cancer last week, and things have been rough on the singer, according to Ryan Star, who is on the tour.

“It has been a long road for David, and we’ve seen how tough it has been on him,” Ryan told People.

At one point during last night’s show, David stopped a slow song, saying “It’s gonna be tough for me.”

“Hold on,” he continued. “I’m sorry. Do you mind if I sing a different song.”

But the fans were there to support the singer. According to People, several attendees brought cards and flowers to console him over his loss.

Cuts Short Comeback Gig In Caribbean Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse was forced to cut short a comeback gig in St. Lucia because of heavy rain.

Winehouse spokesman Chris Goodman said in a statement Saturday that the singer abandoned her performance Friday at the St. Lucia Jazz Festival.

He says heavy rain pounded the stage on the Caribbean island, causing a lighting rig to fail and disrupting sound equipment.

The gig was the troubled British singer’s first performance of 2009.

Goodman says that Winehouse attempted to continue her performance despite the storm, but was forced to stop.

He says the singer was disappointed, as she’d hoped to repay people in St. Lucia for their hospitality.

Winehouse has been staying on the island for several months.

Tobey Maguire and his wife, Jennifer Meyer, welcomed a baby boy on Friday

Tobey Maguire and his wife, Jennifer Meyer, welcomed a baby boy on Friday, according to a rep for the star.

“I can confirm the Maguires had a baby boy today,” the “Spider-Man” star’s rep, Kelly Bush, told Access Hollywood. “The family is healthy and happy.”

The couple has not yet announced the name of their son.

Tobey, 33, and Jennifer, 31, welcomed their first child – Ruby Sweetheart – in November 2006.

And earlier this year, Tobey said Ruby was very excited about her mom being pregnant.

“She’s loving it. She’s really into the belly and it growing and her baby dolls,” Tobey told E! News. “Ruby’s not really jealous. She just loves being around people, and this will be like having another little playmate.”

Tobey and Jennifer, a jewelry designer, married in September 2007 in a ceremony in Hawaii.

Kris Allen Returns To Arkansas For Hometown Parade

The 23-year-old “American Idol” finalist came home on Friday, when an estimated crowd of more than 20,000 packed an area of downtown Conway, about 20 miles north of Little Rock, to hear him belt out songs such as Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror.”

Allen appeared a little overwhelmed by the swooning fans, telling them: “You guys are crazy.”

The concert was the last big public event on Allen’s schedule Friday, which included performances in Little Rock, at the University of Central Arkansas and a parade in his honor just
before the Conway show.

All this is for Allen, who’s competing for the “Idol” crown and a record contract against Danny Gokey of Milwaukee and Adam Lambert of San Diego when the Fox TV singing contest finale airs
May 20.

In Conway, support for the hometown hero is clear. Messages cheering for Allen popped up everywhere — in windows of salons to a bail bonds office.

It’s a big change for Conway, where MTV was briefly dropped from a cable lineup in the 1990s over concern for its content.

“MTV was just a little too graphic for us,” resident Crissy Stevens said with a laugh.

Rachel Burks, an 18-year-old fan of the competition, said she loves judge Simon Cowell, but added that she “wasn’t OK” with his recent comparison of Allen’s cover of the Beatles’ “Come
Together” to “eating ice for lunch.”

At the evening concert, a fan held up a sign that said: “I’ll have ice for lunch any day!”

At the University of Central Arkansas show earlier in the day, 24-year-old Chris Rodriguez said Allen “is what you see on TV.

Rodriguez, who said he grew up with the “Idol” finalist in Arkansas, called the singer “a good guy. He’s incredibly talented, and he is what you see.”

Leann McEowen, 38, said Allen’s success has helped the town unite.

“It’s just amazing to see a town get behind somebody,” she said. “I think it’s cool that they’re behind him the way they are.”

Celebrities aren’t foreign to Conway. Scottie Pippen played his college basketball at UCA before going on to win six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls.

So what’s more impressive, six NBA titles or one “American Idol” crown?

Rodriguez sides with the singer.

“American Idol’s a one-person thing,” he said. “Scottie Pippen had Michael Jordan.”

Throws Out First Pitch At Game In Tokyo Tom Hanks

Hollywood star Tom Hanks was in a league of his own Friday when he threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a Japanese professional baseball game.

Hanks, who is in Tokyo with director Ron Howard to promote their film “Angels&Demons,” took a few warm-up pitches in the bullpen before heading out to the mound to throw out the first pitch at a game between the Yomiuri Giants and the Chunichi Dragons at Tokyo Dome.

With Howard behind the plate and Yomiuri infielder Hayato Sakamoto in the batter’s box, Hanks threw a pitch that bounced several feet in front of home plate before skidding past a diving Howard.

“Tons of practice and I bounced it in the dirt, I’m humiliated” Hanks said. “I went from the rush of being in the sacred spot to the humiliation of being mortal.”

“Angels&Demons,” a prequel of “TheDa Vinci Code,” will be shown around the world on May 15. Hanks again plays the role of Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon in the movie based on Dan Brown’s best-selling novel of the same name.

But on Friday it was all baseball. Hanks said it was an honor to take the mound at the home stadium of Japan’s most popular team.

“I’ve been reading about the Tokyo Dome ever since I was a little kid,” Hanks said. “Home of the Yomiuri Giants and the team of Sadaharu Oh for crying out loud. There is a lot of baseball history out there.”

Hanks said he has been impressed with Japanese baseball over the years.

“I think it’s a great game,” said Hanks. “I think a lot of the teams could compete (with major league teams) but I’ve only seen one game.”

Hanks took in a Japanese baseball game when he was in Japan several years ago to promote “The Da Vinci Code.”

Before the game, Hanks exchanged baseball caps with Yomiuri manager Tatsunori Hara, who guided Japan to a successful defense of its title at the World Baseball Classic in March.

As for the major leagues, Hanks said he likes the Cleveland Indians and the Oakland A’s but that he prefers the National League game.

“I mostly like the National League,” added Hanks. “Dodgers, Cubs, Mets.”

Allison Iraheta Goes Home As Final Three Make ‘American Idol’ History

For the first time in “American Idol” history, the final three competing for the crown are men.

Allison Iraheta, the last woman remaining in Season 8, was voted out of the competition on Wednesday night.

Next week’s show will be the first time a female hasn’t been in the top three in the show’s history.

“As she leaves us with the top three… the boys club gets set for next week,” show host Ryan Seacrest said as Allison mockingly yelled “Noooooo!” before smiling and hugging finalists Danny Gokey, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert.

The three gents will travel to their hometowns on next week’s show, an “Idol” tradition.

But while they men appeared excited about their upcoming hometown journeys, the competition will heat up. Seacrest announced the contenders will face another “Idol” tradition – having one of the two songs they will perform next week chosen by the judges.
